Town Hall
Nancy Slombo called the meeting to order at 6:05pm.
Nancy Slombo, Mike Seekamp, Rick Fortin, Barbara DiBartolomeo and Mary Marshall were present.
Barbara DiBartolomeo was named a voting member in place of Ed Batchelder.
Barbara DiBartolmeo motioned to accept the minutes of May 25th, 2010, seconded by Nancy Slombo. The motion carried unanimously.
The spring meeting and spring site walk for 2011 will be combined on the first Thursday in June at 8:00 AM at Hidden Acres. The dates for the fall site walk and meeting will be determined in the spring.
Nancy reported that marking medallions had been put up along the boundaries.
The monitoring report was reviewed. Mary had corrected it to indicated that that Bev and Ed Batchelder are the new owners of Hidden Acres without having to wait for probate on Forrest’s will. Rick Fortin corrected a typo. Nancy will sign the corrected report and send it to LCHIP. Mike suggested that a copy of the report be given to Bev and Ed Batchelder
Mike questioned what the plans are for the blacksmith shop. Nancy reported that the Batchelders plan to salvage it alto it is not part of the historical easement.
Mary motioned that the slate of officers with Mike Seekamp as Chair, Nancy Slombo, Vice Chair, Mary Marshall, Secretary be approved to take effect in 2011. Nancy seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Mike raised a question about an over arching view of conservation land that is available for public use. Nancy said that Conservation Commission has a brochure in the works. Mary said that the brochure for the trails at Hidden Acres should combine trails on the Foy property and should be done in concert with Conservation Commission. She will contact Conservation about getting on the agenda to discuss the brochure.
Mary raised a question for consideration over the winter as to whether it might be adviseable to try to combine all the contiguous land that is under conservation easement into one easement for monitoring. The implication is that the easement would be held by Southeast Land Trust.
Barbara DiBartolomeo, seconded by Mike Seekamp, motioned to adjourn at 6:35 PM. Motion carried unanimously.
Respectfully submitted,
Mary Marshall, secretary
